Artifacts in the Museum of Salmon Fishing...

The Craig Brook Atlantic Salmon Museum was opened on July 10, 1997, and is home to an extensive collection of artifacts that chronicle the rich history of sport angling for Atlantic salmon. There is a broad array of fly fishing equipment on display. Salmon fly collections include fully dressed historic feather patterns as well as flies tied by local master tiers who fished Maine rivers. Rods dating back to the civil war era highlight our fly rod collection. We also display rods made by the most famous American rod makers such as Thomas and Leonard. Additionally, our reel collection offers examples of virtually all the famous manufacturers.

The collection is extensive and includes historic equipment well beyond the rods and reels. Generous donors, both local and distant, have made this one of the truly finest collections to be seen. Please checkout our online calendar to confirm dates and times that the museum is open. Come and enjoy the history of angling for the greatest sport fish, the Atlantic salmon.
