When is the next Spawning Spectacular?

The Spawning Spectacular is a biannual event conducted by the employees of the Craig Brook National Fish Hatchery for the general public typically in November. The staff conducts three spawning demonstrations hourly showing the methods of egg harvesting and fertilization. It is a wet and wild event predominantly for children but for adults as well. Large tanks are set outside the brood stock holding areas. As the staff eases into the tanks, the fish are taken out of the water and the process begins. The children are pressed right up to the tanks so they are often splashed and the staff members are quite the performers... as are the fish. The next Spawning Spectacular is scheduled for the Fall of 2013.

The Friends of Craig Brook assist with parking, offer free hot dogs and coffee, and sell memberships, hats, and t-shirts at the event.
